Virginia adds surprising depth: UVA, William & Mary, and Old Dominion have collectively hosted high school conferences for over a century, and the area has genuine novice and middle school options, which the flagship-heavy Northeast circuits mostly lack.

William & Mary (International Relations Club) · Williamsburg, VA
A 25-year-old middle-school-only conference run by William & Mary undergraduates as a deliberately educational introduction to Model UN.
NAIMUN, hosted by Georgetown each February at the Washington Hilton. With more than 3,300 delegates and over 40 committees it is the largest entirely student-run conference in the world, and it anchors the winter season for East Coast programs.
AmeriMUNC at American University runs dedicated novice committees alongside veteran and advanced tracks, which makes it the friendliest multi-day option. TechMUN in Alexandria is a lower-cost school-hosted event with committees for both middle and high schoolers, and WMIDMUN at William & Mary is built entirely for middle school delegates.
Johns Hopkins retired the JHUMUNC brand and its old site. The program relaunched its high school conference as JayMUNC, with the first edition scheduled for November 2026 on the Homewood campus in Baltimore.
The fall belongs to Virginia: VAMUN at UVA and WMHSMUN at William & Mary both run in November and pair naturally with a winter flagship. ILMUNC in late January, AmeriMUNC and ODUMUNC in February, NAIMUN in mid-February, and WAMUNC in March then give a team one strong option per month through spring.
