Model UN is an academic simulation of the United Nations. Students represent countries as delegates, debate real global issues in committee, write resolutions, and compete for awards like Best Delegate. Roughly 400,000 students take part worldwide each year across hundreds of conferences.

It can, with a caveat: admissions officers see plenty of students who simply attended conferences. What stands out is sustained commitment plus results, like awards, leadership roles, and chairing. That is exactly what our coaching aims at.

No. Delegate Academy is an independent coaching academy. We are not affiliated with the United Nations, with any Model UN conference, or with Memorial University of Newfoundland (which also uses the letters MUN). On this site, MUN always means Model United Nations.

No. Debate is adversarial and judged speech by speech; Model UN is collaborative diplomacy judged across a whole conference: research, speaking, negotiation, and writing. Debate skills transfer well, but committee rewards different habits, and our courses train those specifically.

Middle and high school students. Every group course runs a Middle School track (ages 10 to 13) and a High School track (ages 14 to 17); 1-on-1 coaching takes students up to 18. All coaching is online, so students can join from anywhere.

Yes. Beginner I assumes zero experience. We teach the rules of procedure, how to research a country position, and how to write and deliver a first speech, then run a scaffolded mock committee so the first real conference is never the first time.

Through the free trial class. Your student joins a live session, and afterwards the coach sends a written placement recommendation naming the course level and what the first term would work on. Experienced delegates usually enter at Intermediate or Advanced; students who already chair may be pointed at Scholars.

Yes, on placement. The ladder exists so nobody sits through material they already own. If the trial shows a student is ready for Advanced I, that is where they start.

Live online sessions over video call, once a week for a 12-week term. Every session ends with written feedback covering research, speaking, and strategy, so students and parents always know what improved and what to work on next.

Small enough that every delegate speaks in every session. Group courses are run as working committees, not lectures: a warm-up drill, the week’s skill, guided practice, live committee time, and a debrief.

Class slots are anchored to US Eastern time and scheduled in two families, one that suits the Americas and Dubai and one that suits Asia and Dubai. Every slot lands on a Friday, Saturday, or Sunday in local time for the regions it serves, and the schedule on each course page shows times in your own time zone.

Whatever the student’s next conference needs: committee-specific research, speech drills, bloc and voting strategy, and resolution or position-paper editing. Sessions are booked around the conference calendar rather than a fixed term.

Yes, mainly through 1-on-1 coaching. Group courses build the general skill set; private sessions are where a coach prepares a delegate for the exact committee, topic, and country assignment they have been given.

Every group course lists its Middle School and High School track price on its page and on the programs overview, per 12-week term. 1-on-1 coaching is quoted after the free trial, since it depends on session length and how many sessions you book.

Book a free trial class. Your student joins a live session, meets a coach, and gets an honest written placement recommendation before you pay anything.

Full refund within 7 days of enrollment if the student has attended no more than one session; pro-rated (less a 15% administrative fee) up to the midpoint of the term; non-refundable after that.
